polar plunge 4:47 PM

Our community had it's 6th annual Polar Plunge this past weekend. Juan and I just had to sign up to do it. Basically you go over to the pool and go down the slide and plunge into the cold water. Then you get a warm breakfast afterwards. The air temp was about 40 (which wasn't horrible) and we forgot to ask what the pool temp was, but it felt like ice!! anyways, for me, the worst part was walking up the stairs to get to the top of the slide, b/c the ground was really cold so my feet were like frozen. And then to top it off, for whatever reason i was going down the slide really really slow. i kept getting stuck and had to keep pushing myself farther down. Juan said I had to lean back to go faster but I didn't want to because the water rushing down was so cold on my back when I would try. Anyways, here are a few pics and a dorky video...

The kids were all bundled up to watch us:
it was in the 40s (not that bad, but still cold for the kids!)

He actually went down fast and went UNDER the water!!

some videos 4:40 PM

i know it's been ages since i updated this blog. our computer is really slow lately and it's so much of a hassle to do anything on here. anyways, there are a few new pictures in the jan album at webshots, and here are some videos of the kids that i took this past week.

Brandon loves puzzles! and he's so good at them! he can do the entire puzzle, but of course in the video he got bored and didn't finish. oh yeah and it's funny because he will purposely put the pieces in the wrong place and then say "no no" and then move it to another wrong place, say "no no" and then put it in the right place and then clap. he's so cute!

here's colin clapping

clapping!

and here is something that juan taught brandon, although he is not allowed to do it anymore since he almost fell flat on his head (juan caught him!)

don't try this at home

words... 10:51 AM

Well, most of you know Brandon has decided to be a late talker. As of his 2nd birthday, he had about a 10 word vocabulary (mom, dad, hi, wow, hot, ut oh, and a few other expressions) Well since he turned 2 I guess he changed his mind and now wanted to be a talker. He pretty much says a new word every day now. I'm so impressed. His new words include: ball (his favorite word, he calls anything round "ball"), star, trees, shoes, dog, flower, bear, roar, T, E, eyes and a few others I can't think of right now.

It's so fun to hear him talking. He has the cutest little high pitched voice. Yay Brandon!

Christmas in Mississippi! 5:11 PM

We had a great Christmas in Mississippi! We got to spend it with Rachel, Allen, Kylie, Kira, and Mom and Dad Browne. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip and some of the things we got to do while we were there.

Santa came with lots of presents for everyone!

Colin loved his first Christmas!

Kylie and Kira got an inflatable bounce house, and all the kids had a good time playing and bouncing around. Even Brandon got in there and ended up having a fun time!

We tried to get a shot of all 4 kids by the Christmas and it wasn't an easy task. So we started with Colin by himself...

We went to downtown Meridian where they have the oldest working Caurosel in the US, it was pretty cool, so we rode it twice and we were practically the only ones on it. The other cool thing we did (Rachel has all the pictures of) is they have painted caurosel horses all over Meridian and Rachel is trying to get a picture of Kylie on every horse and while we were there, we went around and I helped her find some of them...I think we added about 8 or 10 more to her list of 60+ horses!!

even brandon rode a horse

Some other fun things we did while we were there...we got to go see Kylie at Tae Kwan Do, that was so awesome! We got to shop at this really cool store called "Dirt Cheap" and literally everything in there was Dirt Cheap. We shopped at some cool boutiques, took the kids on walks around the neighborhood, went geocaching, played board games and cards and just spent some good time together as a family. Even breaking down in Allen's Bronco was fun (haha!!) Thanks for having us Rachel and Allen!
