A group of my friends and I are doing blog challenges and this one was to document a day in our life. Well, I decided to document last Friday, April 24. It was supposed to be a typical day, and for the most part it was....except for a minor injury. Enjoy a day in the life of Brandon and Colin...


It's 8am, time to get the kids up!
Brandon is first.
Good morning sunshine!

First thing is first, time for milk!!

He likes to snuggle up on the couch with the boppy and watch a cartoon while he drinks his milk.

What's on today?
Curious George!

Now it's time to get Colin up.
Peek-a-boo, I see you!


A fresh diaper...

And out of his jammies...

And now it's time for Colin to eat...

Mommy needs to check her email, so the boys play for a few minutes


Brandon gets some cereal, Berry Berry Kix

And since he is teething really bad, he got a little bit of Tylenol

What a big boy he is!
Colin goes down for a quick nap before going to play group.
Brandon decides to hang out in Mommy's bathroom while she is getting ready

We do a quick check to see if Colin has fallen asleep

Nope, well, we'll get him up in a few minutes because it's almost time to go.
Brandon plays with his cars while Mommy eats a quick breakfast

And then Brandon gets out of his jammies and into a fresh outfit, and his NEW shoes!

Time to get Colin out of the crib...quick check

Oh no, he fell asleep, but our friends are here, so we have to go.
Mommy had to go wake him up.
It's ok though, John and Sarah are here and we're going to the park to meet some new people in our new play group.
Here we go!

We were the first ones there, but Brandon didn't waste any time getting to the playground

Sarah and Colin have a snack and watch the big kids play

Other kids start showing up, so Brandon has people to play with.

It was a REALLY hot day, better stay hydrated, Colin!

Phew, 12 moms, 25 kids, swinging, sliding, and lot of playing later, it's time to head back home for lunch!

Now that we're home, Mommy gets Brandon out of the stroller, and is going to get Colin out. OH NO! Brandon is screaming! What happened? He tripped in the driveway and he is bleeding! No time for pictures here, Mommy goes into panic mode. Mommy's friend Beth offers to watch Colin while she takes Brandon to urgent care to get his lip checked out.
"Mommy, how could you take a picture of me at the doctors with me so upset?"

"My lip really hurts, please don't post the yuckiest pictures" "OK, this one isn't too bad"

The doctor said that Brandon's lip would heal on it's own, and that no stitches are necessary. The piece of lip that was hanging down will fall off and he'll be better in no time.
So, we go back home and get some Motrin.
Colin ate lunch while Mommy and Brandon were gone. Brandon isn't in the mood to eat lunch right now.
But,
Being back home with the other kids, Brandon forgets about his injury and plays with them for a little bit before nap time.

John and Sarah leave and it's time for naps...
The kids go down, Mommy gets a little down time too.
Checking in on Brandon, he is OUT

After about two hours, Colin is up!

He eats again, and then plays near the door.

What was he doing by the door?
Filling up his diaper!
Diaper change time!

Daddy gets home from work, and boy is he tired. He goes to get dressed...

But Colin doesn't want to leave his side, so he plays in the closet while Daddy changes.

And, Brandon must have known Daddy was home, because he's up from his nap too!

His lip has swollen up some more, but Brandon is feeling better.

After a good nap, Brandon is hungry, and has some more milk, with Mommy.

While watching an episode of The Backyardagains.

Daddy and Colin hang out.

Brandon drinks his milk.

Colin pretends to drink his milk.

What's that smell?
Brandon needs a diaper change!

It's time for a quick snack before heading out to the store.

Colin has some crackers

Brandon has some yogurt and crackers

And we load up in the car

Brandon asks me to draw the letter B on his Magnadoodle.

That entertains him for about 5 seconds before he clears it and asks me to write the letter X. I can't right now, I'm driving!
We get to Target.

Shopping list:
Bananas
Diaper Genie refills
Birthday card
Yogurt
Wait, Ball wasn't on the list.

Well, Ok since Brandon had to go to the doctors today, he can get a ball.
Now we're home and it's time for dinner


Brandon gets a popcicle to make his lip feel better

And it's bath time!

Brandon helps mommy put away the laundry

And Colin reads himself a book

A quick game of soccer before bed time

Then Colin decides he's still hungry and goes on the search for food...

"Oh look! There's half a cracker that I dropped during dinner! YUMMY!"

Brandon trying to avoid going to brush his teeth

Finally, he cooperates and brushes away!

Colin gets his nighttime feeding

Daddy reads to Brandon

And Mommy reads to Colin

Lots and lots of kisses...

And baby #1 goes down for the night.

A few seconds of crying and then silence.
Over to Brandon's room.
Lots and lots of kisses...

And baby #2 is down for the night.

All is quiet in the house.
Life is good.
Time for Mommy and Daddy to relax...
OR
do dishes, take out trash, fold laundry, write bills, pick up toys...
go to sleep
wake up
repeat
